As part of our planning we decided it was best to take a look around the setting so that we can get a better idea when it comes to writing the shot list and script etc. as we know exactly what the shot will look like and this makes it easier for us to visualize each shot.
One issue we came across whilst doing the Location Recce was the opening shot of the school building, we have noticed that there are a number of modern day objects obstructing the shot such as telephone wires, cars and street lights. We are going to have to ensure that these cannot be seen when we film the past shots.
Whilst doing this we took it in turns to film whilst another member would write down the risks involved with that particular setting and the final member scouted the setting and directed. We alternated this process whenever we reached a new setting. Here is the typed up risk assessment sheet made on the day of the location recce:
